Relations between the downworlders and the nephilim have always been shaky at best. Forced to accept the existence of one another through a series of laws and treaties passed hundreds of years ago they have begrudgingly co-existed. There is no clearer example of this than at Dagwood Academy in New York City. A boarding school originally set up for the training and schooling of future shadowhunters. In recent years, the school has opened its doors to vampires, werewolves, warlocks, and even fey in a sign of good will to the downworlders.
This act of good will has produced abysmal results. Vampires only hang out with vampires and shadowhunters only with shadowhunters; relations between the races has been rare and frowned upon by other students. Now, though, dark times are beginning to fall upon the halls of Dagwood. Students are disappearing and with a string of downworld murders popping up in New York City that look strangely like the doings of shadowhunters it leaves the students pointing fingers at each other. Tensions are rising among the races as the situation worsens. Can the students figure out who or what is really behind these awful acts before the shaky peace that has been established is forever lost?
